PROJECT ARCHITECT - Denver OR Phoenix

We are seeking Project Architects with +7 years of experience in Multifamily Architecture.

The ideal candidate is a skilled professional working closely with the Project Manager and is responsible for leading internal project team through design, documentation, and coordination of primary building systems. They execute design direction, manage technical development, and support project delivery through each phase of the project. As they advance, they gain autonomy, oversee staff, engage directly with consultants, and contribute to strategic outcomes. This role upholds KEPHART’s standards and drives project success through thoughtful detailing, coordination, and leadership.

Range of Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination: Have a baseline understanding of all projects systems to be able to review and direct all design disciplines based on design intent, understand typical construction sequencing and techniques, identify essential coordination tasks amongst all disciplines, address project gaps, and work collaboratively with the internal and external teams developing solutions to that are in alignment and clearly documented among teams.
  • Code Review: Develop code strategy for entire building with PM (i.e. construction types, area limitations, separations, etc.). Implement code strategy and maintain strategy intent through coordination and documenting. Discuss and defend code interpretations with AHJ’s through all phases of a project. Reviewing code alongside the Project Manager, ensuring clarity through well-documented code sheets.
  • Specification Development: Define material selections and compile detailed specifications aligning with the project.
  • Detail Development: Identify critical detailing that needs to be developed and coordinated with internal and external teams. Maintain detail integrity and cohesiveness throughout sets. Develop and maintain list of needed details with PM and distribute responsibility amongst team members. Make informed decisions on materiality and structural details, refining wall sections and other critical details within the project.
  • Project Planning: Develop internal and external project schedule based off of overall schedule. Create team strategy with PM and manage task assignments for all team members within the team strategy to meet all deadlines.
  • Documentation: Determine the necessary level of detail for each project phase, create meeting agendas, facilitate consultant discussions, and oversee the distribution of minutes. Provide detailed redlines for all consultants at all phases.
  • Team Leadership: Collaborate with PM on design and construction intentions and allocate team assigned based on discussions to project team. Provide coaching, training and support to staff you’re managing, assess project team strengths, and coordinate with leadership to uphold project schedules, fees and deadlines.
  • Project Execution: Create and delegate redlines from the Project Manager to project staff, implement project design direction, and perform project documentation autonomously under the supervision of the Project Manager.
  • Standards Implementation: Uphold KEPHART standards by ensuring proper execution of document protocols, QAQC procedures, and Revit methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensure preferred but not required
  • A solid understanding of construction methods, including wood and/or steel framing and concrete construction
  • High level of Revit experience and use of ACC platform preferred
  • Multi-family related experience ranging from low density to high density
  • Expertise in managing staff and consultants
  • Works directly with a project manager in project execution and managing staff
  • Understanding of building code and experience to interpret IBC publications

Compensation

Salary Range:  $ 81,000 – 93,000 annual, pending level of expertise

Potential for an annual bonus based on the company’s profitability and an individual’s job performance

SENIOR DESIGNER - Denver OR Phoenix

We are seeking a Senior Designer (emerging professional on path to licensure) with 3 – 5 years of professional experience to join our Team. The ideal candidate is fully competent in conventional aspects of architecture. Senior Designers work more independently, take on moderately complex assignments, and support junior staff. They are responsible for initiating typical details, performing analysis, and contributing to specifications and reports. This role bridges technical execution with mentorship and quality assurance.
We are a Revit office and preference is given to those with hands-on experience.

Range of Responsibilities

  • Creating and modifying building/unit models
  • Implementing dimensioning and annotation
  • Participation in Concept Design through Construction
  • Picking up redlines and applying design direction
  • Developing and revising typical and complex details
  • Supporting internal team members and collaborating across project teams
  • Researching materials and codes
  • Learning and applying KEPHART’s documentation and Revit standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • 3 – 5 years of professional experience, preferably in multi-family
  • A solid understanding of wood and concrete construction
  • Professional Revit experience
  • Multi-family experience

Compensation

Salary Range:  $ 64,000 – 68,000 annual, pending level of expertise

Potential for an annual bonus based on the company’s profitability and an individual’s job performance
