At KEPHART, we believe in providing people with well-designed places to live, work, and play, and creating those spaces in the most effective and sustainable way possible. Going green is more than just a mantra for our team – our commitment to sustainability starts in our office and extends into our designs. We are consistently looking for ways to create a positive impact within our community and reduce our carbon footprint. In celebration of this year’s Earth Day, here are a few of the ways that KEPHART has worked toward a greener planet in the past year:

KEPHART Bike to Work Day

  • Promoted an internal recycling program that encourages employees to recycle or compost food scraps, toilet paper and paper towel rolls, printer cartridges, plastics, pens, etc. In 2019, KEPHART recycled 18,972 pounds of waste – 292 pounds per employee!
  • Participated in Denver’s Bike to Work Day and sponsored a celebration station with our RiNo business neighbors at Ten Barrel Brewing Company
  • Hosted the KEPHART Earth Day Challenge where we promoted green habit making like printing double-sided, utilizing hand dryers rather than paper towels and utilizing reusable or compostable kitchen materials
  • Promoted the AIA’s +2030 online series, giving professionals the skills to create next-generation, high performance buildings

We also work hard to go green beyond our office walls. As sustainability has become a bigger priority for renters and buyers, we have prioritized green-building and wellness standards in our designs. Check out our green-building certifications!
