The design process at KEPHART is deeply-rooted in collaboration between the client and our architectural team. It starts by understanding the desired goals for the project and crafting a vision for the overall look and feel of the space we intend to create. At KEPHART, rather than designing a building in a vacuum, we often use animation to spark conversation and serve as the foundation for that collaboration. Animation allows us to show not only the shape that a building can take, but also the sensory experiences a space might have – the sounds one might hear when walking past, the art one might see on the building’s exterior, or the material textures the building might utilize.
In the 3900 Brighton video, we took a massing model and paused at the places we felt there would be impact, layering in digital collages including fades in and out of people enjoying the space. The completed animation presents far more than the form that the building might take, but crafts a true atmosphere to help the client better understand the space and its potential.
