Bryce Hall

President, Principal

Bryce Hall is an accomplished architect and executive with more than 20 years of experience in residential architecture. As the President of KEPHART, he guides the strategic vision and direction of the firm, providing support for eight additional Principals who help drive KEPHART’s success. Bryce attended the University of Colorado, where he earned master’s degrees in both architecture and business administration, allowing him to understand the industry more comprehensively, from the perspective of both an architect and a developer. His enthusiasm for these two interests, combined with his deep understanding of client needs throughout the duration of a project, have helped solidify KEPHART as the architect of choice for many national developers.

Bryce’s exemplary leadership has earned him recognition as one of ENR’s Top 20 Under 40 AEC Professionals in the Mountain States Region and President of one of Denver’s Best Places to Work. He also represents and shares KEPHART’s thought leadership on a national stage at events like the National Multifamily Housing Conference and the Pacific Coast Builders’ Conference. Outside the office, Bryce enjoys gathering his wife, two boys, and dog around the fire pit to share a tale of the old days, a legend called “A Life with Free Time.”

Adam Kantor Professional

Adam Kantor

Principal, Director of Land Planning

Adam’s work experience with local, regional, and national developers has provided valuable experience and insight into design. His portfolio includes a variety of projects, including small-scale planned communities, resorts, mixed-use, and infill projects. Adam enjoys a challenge. You're always on your toes when working with users of all scales.

In his free time, Adam enjoys spending time with his two sons, tending to his vegetable garden, reading, and working on home renovations.

Bobby Long Professional

Bobby Long

Principal, Director of Design

More than 30 years of experience and a genuine passion for thoughtful design have led Bobby to his current position as a Principal and Director of Design at KEPHART. He loves creating spaces that people are proud to call home.

When he’s not leading KEPHART’s award-winning design team or spending time with his wife and kids, Bobby can likely be found cheering for his beloved alma mater, The Ohio State Buckeyes, or working on his most prized possession – a 1984 Porsche 928s.

Colleen Cichy

Principal, Chief Financial Officer

Colleen has led the accounting, administration, and human resources departments for the past 18 years. As a member of the Leadership Team, she actively contributes to strategic planning and management of the company's daily operations.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Colleen finds joy in spending time with her husband, two teenage daughters, and two dogs. Committed to a balanced lifestyle, she embraces activities like yoga, running, and occasional shopping sprees with her daughters.

Chris Grady

Principal, Senior Director of Land Planning

Chris joined the KEPHART team in 2002. With over 35 years of experience in land planning, he is a talented and trusted member of our team. Chris works directly with KEPHART’s designers to integrate innovative planning solutions with architectural design to create great places to live that are market responsive, environmentally sensitive, and successfully address the needs of developers, residents, and communities.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family. They love skiing, hiking, biking, and enjoy their dogs Leo and Ella.

Doug Van Lerberghe

Principal, Director of Strategic Ventures

Doug is a leader in design. His ambition, focus, and drive to excel are inspiring. Doug’s incredible work has received countless awards. He has over 20 years of experience on various project types, including planned communities, high-density infill, and single and multifamily homes. He exploits every opportunity and welcomes new challenges. Doug’s love and dedication to architectural design have flourished during his years at KEPHART.

In his free time, Doug enjoys spending time with his kids, Noëlle and Austin. He enjoys taking his boat out and participating in water sports. Doug will forever be a Minnesotan at heart; he loves rooting for the Minnesota Vikings and sporting the color purple. Go Vikings!

Jamie Goldman

Principal, Director of Marketing

With a passion for marketing and design, Jamie found her niche at KEPHART as head of the Marketing Department. Her eye for design and intense work ethic fostered a successful career. Jamie’s professional involvement stretches beyond the realm of KEPHART. She serves on several committees for various organizations, including HBA of Metro Denver and Housing Colorado. Her positive attitude and motivated mindset inspire everyone; she is a valuable asset to the KEPHART team.
John Binder Professional

John Binder

Principal, Senior Director of Architecture

John’s passion for architecture is unmatched. He appreciates watching a design come to life; such moments incentivize him to do more. He has received several awards on projects stretching nationwide. His pride and devotion to architecture extend past his involvement at KEPHART. He is an active member of several local industry groups, including Leading Age, Transit Alliance, and ULI organizations. John is a leader within the office. His mantra, “Let’s make it happen,” instills a sense of importance among his peers and encourages a heightened level of motivation.

Outside of the office, John enjoys biking, hiking and traveling. When on vacation, he loves participating in dive trips.

Nicole Williams

Principal, Director of CA & QC

As a Principal and Director of Contract Administration and Quality Control at KEPHART, Nicole ensures that our construction sets are of the highest quality and current with industry standards and best practices. Since joining the team in 2013, her knowledge of the building industry has helped shape KEPHART’s reputation for having outstanding construction sets.

When she’s not in the field, she enjoys cheering for her hometown team, the Kansas City Chiefs, and spending time outdoors with her family and her dog Patrick (yes, as in Patrick Mahomes).

Steve Martinez

Principal, Director of Architecture

Steve joined the KEPHART team in 2011. He has over fifteen years of multifamily residential architecture experience and has worked on projects ranging in size from small garden apartments to large high-density homes. Steve’s tenacious attitude and attention to detail are appreciated and admired within the office.

Steve moved to Colorado in 1999. He enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He loves snowboarding, going four-wheeling, watching car shows, and enjoying Bronco games at the Mile High Stadium. Each year, Steve visits a different NFL stadium. He hopes to see all 32 teams play on their home field one day.

KEPHART Studio Team

Aileen Tang

After growing up in Southern California, Aileen’s innate problem-solving ability led her to pursue architecture at Woodbury University. She discovered her love for creating constructible designs and the reward of watching them come to life.

As a recent Los Angeles transplant, she has enjoyed exploring her new home with her fiancé. When she’s not discovering LA, she is likely traveling the world, trying new recipes, or indulging in her favorite pastime – Disneyland!

Amy Rypkema

Amy received her Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado at Denver. Her diverse work background provided her with years of experience and opportunity. Her detailed understanding of various design types made her a talented and respected professional.

Born and raised in Colorado, Amy loves exploring all the state offers. She enjoys running, skiing, and hiking with her husband and daughter. We are excited to see what her next adventure will be!

Andrea Ariail

Originally from Georgia but raised in sunny Tampa, Florida, Andrea began her career in interior design, but after getting her Master of Architecture from the University of Florida, she found her passion in contract administration. She loves using her keen sense of detail and her quick problem-solving skills to help clients feel good about the product they’re getting. When she’s not on a job site, you can find her in her garden with her dog Trixie, where she has planted 20 varieties of roses and numerous unique vegetables. During her free time, Andrea enjoys experiencing cultures from around the world. Her travels have taken her to France and Switzerland, and she even lived in Italy for a time. Make sure you ask her about Cuba because no one has entirely experienced it like she has.

Carter Weitz

Carter moved to Colorado nearly a decade ago after graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to join the KEPHART team. Initially hired as a drafter, he has continued to grow and develop his skills and now works as a Project Manager.

When not in the office, Carter is an avid moviegoer, a fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers (Go Big Red!), and has a small obsession with fantasy football… Just ask around the KEPHART Office! He also enjoys skiing and tries to plan a trip to one new resort each year.

Caitlin Kennedy

Caitlin joined the KEPHART team after getting her Masters in Architecture from the University of Colorado Denver in 2023. While there, she received a Design-Build certificate for being a part of the team that designed and built phase 1 of a modular, remote research station for NOAA scientists in Antarctica. While she didn’t get to travel to the world’s southernmost point, her team built the station in Denver, deconstructed it, and then shipped it off to Livingston Island, Antarctica. With a passion for sustainability in the built environment, this project gave her the opportunity to combine her degrees in Environmental Studies with Architecture.

The New Jersey native loves her new home in Colorado and is still searching for the best bagel in Denver. You can find her in the kitchen experimenting with recipes and learning new Mexican dishes from her grandma over FaceTime. She loves exploring the Colorado outdoors with her partner and their dog, Postcard (ask her about his secret name.)

Chris Rosepink

Chris started his career with KEPHART as a drafter. Over the years, he climbed the ranks, quickly gaining more responsibility. In 2012, he earned the BIM Manager title and showcased his IT department skills. Chris is excited to utilize his unique skill set for the betterment of our company.

Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, four-wheeling, snowboarding, and working on his ’68 Mustang in his free time.

Cici Strabbing Professional

Cici Strabbing

Cici joined the KEPHART team in 2008 as a summer intern at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She completed her Master of Architecture at Woodbury University in Southern California. With over 5 years of experience as a PM and as an Associate candidate at KEPHART, Cici has experience in all product types of multifamily, with a focus on podiums and wraps. She strives to provide quality designs and drawings in her project work, with her internal work dedicated to mentorship and education for her coworkers. When asked about her favorite part of working for KEPHART, Cici will tell you it's all about the people - those at KEPHART and the clients she works with.

As a native of Denver, CO, and currently residing in Austin, TX, Cici loves living and working in two of our nation's capitals. She enjoys traveling with her husband and son, finding the next place to eat, and spending time with their Siberian Husky, Amadeus.

Collin Bailey Professional

Collin Bailey

After growing up in Illinois and attending the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Collin's passion for problem-solving and seeing ideas come to life brought him to Colorado, where he pursued a Master of Architecture at the University of Colorado Denver.

Collin joined KEPHART in 2019, where he has become an integral part of residential projects across the Denver Metro Area and in Colorado Springs. He has enjoyed learning more about design technology and gaining experience with programs like Revit.

When he’s not creating at KEPHART, he enjoys exploring the Rocky Mountains, attending concerts, cheering on his favorite Illinois sports teams, and Colorado’s craft beer culture.

Craig Welsh

Craig is a licensed architect and brings over 20 years of design and construction experience to the CA Team at KEPHART. As a CA Project Manager, he enjoys forming relationships with contractor and consultant partners, aiming for a quality constructed product. He loves using BIM design tools to help the construction team visualize the final project.

He is originally from a small beach town in New York but has called Colorado home for the last 30 years. Outside work, Craig and his wife spend family time wrangling two teenagers and a very energetic chocolate lab. Now and again, he gets to travel, attend concerts, and sample Colorado’s endless beer options. Most weekends are spent in the mountains skiing, biking, or 4-wheeling our mountain passes.

Damian Professional

Damian Rozkuszka

Born in Poland and raised in Chicago, Damian’s travels and love of exploring the world helped him discover his passion for architecture. He pursued that passion at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, where he received his Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Architecture and learned to love the beauty of turning a vision into reality. He pursued his career in Chicago and New York City before his love of nature led him to Colorado. He enjoys the great outdoors in his free time – running, hiking, or camping in the Rocky Mountains!
David Beckner Professional

David Beckner

David earned his Master's in Architecture at the University of Colorado at Denver and joined the KEPHART team in 2006. He is passionate about quality design and is interested in multi-family architecture and affordable housing for low-income families.

David is a proud native of Colorado. He loves to snowboard, snowshoe, fly fish, hike, and golf with his wife and two children. Football is a Beckner family favorite pastime, they are avid fans of the Denver Broncos and CU Buffaloes. Sko Buffs!

Emma Stephens Professional

Emma Stephens

Emma grew up in northern New Jersey, knowing from a young age that she wanted to become an architect and explore the positive influence the built environment can have on the lives of others. She attended the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, receiving her Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in sustainability before moving to Colorado and joining the KEPHART team.

Emma has two guinea pigs. She enjoys sewing, crocheting, playing video and board games, cooking, hiking, camping, and movies.

Erin Hylton Professional

Erin Hylton

After graduating from the University of Kansas, Erin worked on various project scales and types in Kansas City, ultimately reaching her goal of becoming a licensed Architect. Following her desire to help create the spaces people use the most, their homes, Erin found KEPHART and made a move to Colorado.

In her free time, Erin almost always has a “granny craft” with her, like knitting, that she will gladly teach to anyone who asks! When she’s not crafting, Erin can be found playing games with her partner Zack, tasting the world through cooking, and exploring with their two dogs, Maya & Foxy.

Ethan Miller Professional

Ethan Miller

Born and raised in Colorado, Ethan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he developed a love for sustainable and thoughtful design in the built environment. When he is not at KEPHART, he enjoys playing video and board games, enjoying Colorado’s outdoors, and supporting his home team, the Denver Broncos, along with his wife and two adorable cats.
Gizem Tekin Headshot

Gizem Tekin

Gizem was born and raised in Ankara, Turkey. She graduated from Eskişehir Osmangazi University in 2013 with a degree in Geological Engineering. After graduating, she worked in the mining industry for 5 years before moving to Denver, Colorado, to pursue architecture. Growing up in a country with many unique architectural beauties inspired her to chase the field.

She loves discovering something new in her free time by traveling to new countries and learning about their cultures. She also enjoys swimming, camping, and hiking.

Florence Baveye

Florence joined the KEPHART team back in 2018 with a diverse background in Interior Design, Illustration, Solar, Green Building, Research, Energy Auditing, and MEP Design. Throughout her over 10 year career she has looked for ways to return to her first love: 3D Modeling (she says it's like being paid to play video games for her). As BIM Captain, Florence brings an enthusiastic passion for Revit and design technology to our office.

When she's not happily playing in Revit, you can find Florence playing soccer or running and cozying up with a good book. She lives with her cat-obsessed partner in Ithaca, NY where she is a proud plant mom to hundreds and a reluctant roommate to her two cats.

Grant Ligo Headshot

Grant Ligo

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Grant’s love of design, computers, and story-telling led him to discover the world of 3D modeling in high school. He pursued that love and passion at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana, where he received his Bachelor's degree in 3D Modeling and Animation. Determined to learn from some of the best in the industry, he also studied at the Victoria University of Wellington in Wellington, New Zealand. Since graduating, Grant has worked with clients to convey their designs and ideas through virtual reality, animations, still renderings, and other creative methods, helping bring their vision to life. In his free time, he is in the mountains, backpacking, hiking, skiing, or in the city, playing board/card games with friends at the local brewery.
Haley Schranck Professional

Haley Schranck

A Colorado native, Haley’s love of the great outdoors led her to Bozeman, Montana, where she completed a Master’s in Architecture. She soon discovered how much she enjoyed being an active member of the whole design process – from sketching ideas to framing in walls. Her experience with hands-on building gave her a practical understanding of construction that helped her communicate with clients and execute efficient drawing sets. A personal interest in sustainable and healthy alternative building methods pushed Haley to design and build her home in Western Montana, where she lives with her husband, daughter, and flock of chickens.
Holly Hammontree Professional

Holly Hammontree

Holly is from Golden, Colorado, but moved to Denver after graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor of Environmental Design with a focus in architecture. At KEPHART, she works on the Build-to-Rent Team, which focuses on lower-density and single-family residential projects.

Despite being a Colorado Native, she doesn’t participate in the typical outdoor “Colorado Stuff.” She enjoys reading, baking, and watching movies during her free time. She also enjoys traveling and visiting new restaurants with her friends and family.

Ian Maddock

After growing up in Bay Village, Ohio, Ian moved to Colorado and joined the KEPHART team in 2023. He found his passion for architecture while attending The Ohio State University, where he received his bachelor's in architecture. A professor once told him it’s “the practice of world building,” where you can create spaces people use every day and it has stuck with Ian ever since.

On the weekends, you can find Ian up on the mountain skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer. When he is in the metro area, you can find him attending one of Denver’s various live sports, at a concert, or show.

Jack Oldham Professional

Jack Oldham

Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Jack moved to Montana to attend Montana State University, where he graduated with his Master’s in Architecture. He moved to Denver shortly after graduating in 2015. He has worked as a general contractor's BIM Coordinator and Project Engineer. He also was the Lead Designer for a design start-up focusing on remote architectural installations before joining KEPHART in December 2020. Jack’s passion within architecture is finding ways to implement new technology into the design and construction of projects.

Jack enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and finding new breweries and restaurants around Colorado in his free time. On quieter days, he enjoys finding new board games and spending time with his two cats.

Jake Dudley

Jake is from Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado, Denver, with a degree in Architecture and Urban Planning. He is passionate about sustainable design and equitable development, drawing on his environmental science and biology background.

Jake loves to ski, run, and play soccer outside of work. He recently moved to New York City to explore life outside of Colorado.

Jake Kozlowski

Jake earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Ohio State University and joined the KEPHART team in 2011. His passion for architecture and technology makes his role as KEPHART’s Director of Design Technology his dream job. Jake loves keeping a finger on the pulse of the technology being developed and used in the AEC industry and integrating it into the KEPHART design process to enhance the client experience.

Outside of work, Jake loves spending time with his wife and two children, Lucy and Max, and his dog, Roxy. Jake is a football enthusiast and avid Buckeyes fan.

Janet Grady Professional

Janet Grady

With over 20 years of experience at KEPHART in various design and project management roles, Janet is a well-versed Associate in all facets of project development, from initial design through final construction. Janet has a deep knowledge of building systems and sequences, enabling her to oversee KEPHART's document standards and quality control review of drawings. She understands our drawings and excels at collaborating with clients, consultants, and general contractors to address matters in the field while building trusting relationships effectively. Janet is passionate about training and mentoring the KEPHART team on the latest construction best practices and documentation.

When she’s not leading contract administration on projects nationwide, she enjoys yoga, trail running, snowboarding, and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Jennifer Dodge

Jennifer graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in International Affairs. As a flight attendant based out of New York, she traveled the world before choosing Denver as her final destination. Soon after moving to Denver, she joined the KEPHART team as our Human Resources Manager.

In her free time, Jennifer enjoys exploring the mountains of Colorado with her husband, Mark, and dog, Java. Together, they enjoy hiking 14ers, camping, and traveling. With no known cure for the travel bug, Jennifer constantly craves travel and adventure. So far, she’s traveled to almost 60 different countries!

Jesse Garland

Jesse has dedicated his career to residential architecture, with more than 18 years of experience and dual Master's degrees in Architecture and Business Administration. When he’s not pursuing his passion for designing housing for the missing middle, he’s cheering on his two favorite sports teams – the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys. He’s a true Texas native but loves living in Colorado and frequently explores the mountains on foot or snowboard with his wife, two kids, and dog.

Jon Webb

Since joining KEPHART in 2011, Jon has managed many successful projects, from for-sale single-family and townhomes to market-rate multifamily rentals. He recognizes the importance of connecting ideas, people, and design in every project and prioritizes these aspects in each home he designs.

When away from work, Jon enjoys spending time with his two kids and finds great joy in being on his bike, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with friends.

Josh Thomas

Josh Thomas

Josh joined KEPHART in December 2018. Since then, he has gained exposure to various project types, including multifamily garden apartments, wraps, and townhomes. He is passionate about pairing design concepts with buildable solutions on each project he encounters.

After moving from Ohio in 2015, Josh has spent his free time enjoying the many benefits of living near the Rocky Mountains, from backpacking, hiking, and camping with his wife and Aussie to exploring every bit of terrain available on his snowboard. While closer to town, you will find him out disc golfing or enjoying Denver's incredible music scene.

Julianna Mestas

A true Colorado native, Julianna grew up in Colorado Springs and then moved to Denver to attend the University of Colorado Denver, where she received her undergraduate degree in Architecture. After traveling and learning about modular multifamily housing, Julianna joined the KEPHART team with a passion for designing thoughtful and affordable homes.

When away from KEPHART, Julianna enjoys exploring the Colorado mountains with her dog, Honey. Together, they enjoy camping, hiking 14ers, and traveling – always ready for a new adventure!

Justin Schoenborn

Justin’s interest in technology blossomed at a young age. As part of KEPHART’s IT Team, he put this passion to use. His patience and ability to solve problems are both appreciated and admired. Justin is a valued asset to the KEPHART family.

Born and raised in Michigan, Justin developed a love for the outdoors. The beauty of the Rocky Mountains captivated his interest and pulled him to Colorado in 2005. He loves to ski, hike, and fly fish in his free time. Justin is searching for the best cup of coffee or learning to speak German when not outside.

Kiya Kelley Professional

Kiya Kelley

After graduating high school, Kiya began working for her father’s construction company, where she gained a deep appreciation for architectural design and the process of construction. In June 2016, she left home in Vancouver Island, British Columbia, and came to Colorado, where she joined KEPHART. During her tenure, she has worked on various projects across the United States.

Outside of the office, Kiya is an avid mountain biker, a master baker, and enjoys building and maintaining local trail systems.

Lance Murphy Headshot

Lance Murphy

Lance grew up shadowing his dad on job sites where he worked as an electrician and a local carpenter. Though he initially went to the University of Northern Iowa for marketing, he realized after graduation that he wanted to work in the construction space. He returned to school to pursue Architectural Technology and found his passion for combining details and drawing sets.

Outside work, he loves spending time with his wife and being a dad to two little boys and a boxer named Duff. They enjoy playing with LEGOs, biking, golfing, and woodworking together. Their favorite holiday is Halloween, where they can combine these passions to create some pretty incredible costumes.

Luke Bowers

Luke joined the KEPHART team in 2023 after graduating with an Architecture Emphasis from CU Boulder's Environmental Design Program. While there, he was Co-Vice President of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) and was able to grow professionally, interning for a firm in his hometown of Vail, Colorado. Luke loves architecture's ability to reimagine the built environment by harnessing a love to create a world we desire. He loves to problem-solve daily and find ways to design to a site's fullest potential.

When not at the office, Luke can be found exploring Colorado's outdoors, both in the metro and in the mountains. On the weekends, you can typically find him DJing a show with his identical twin brother.

Mike Campagna

After growing up on Long Island, NY, Mike moved to Denver in 2010 to pursue his Master of Architecture at CU Denver. Since graduating, he has gained experience in a multitude of project types. It wasn’t until the latter half of the early stages of his professional career that he chose to focus on the nuances of multi-family architecture.

In his time, you can find Mike riding his bike to local breweries, strumming the guitar, or heading to the mountains for seasonally appropriate activities. He also has a penchant for furniture design and interiors and spends hours researching the next mid-century piece for his home. While he may not have a human child, his fur baby, Monroe, keeps him plenty busy.

Natasha Soltero

Natasha was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and has lived in the same house for most of her life. She graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a degree in architecture and a passion for helping others and giving back to her community. She infuses that mentality into her designs and appreciates that architecture always offers opportunities to learn and improve.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two fur babies, Hans and Gretta, as well as family and friends. She loves spontaneous weekend trips, volleyball, makeup, and fashion.

Noelle Van Lerberghe Professional

Noëlle Van Lerberghe

Born and raised in Golden, Noëlle is a proud Colorado native. Since childhood, she has followed in her parents’ footsteps to become an architect. After graduating from the University of Arizona with her Bachelor of Architecture, Noëlle returned to Colorado to join the KEPHART team! Outside of work, her biggest passion is waterskiing. She also loves the Minnesota Vikings, traveling, camping, cooking and painting Colorado landscapes.
Phil Scott Professional

Phil Scott

Phil joined the KEPHART team in the spring of 2022. With over 30 years of experience in design and construction. Phil is a member of our Contract Administration team. He enjoys working closely with our project team members, field contractors, and clients to ensure their visions are built to meet expectations.

Outside work, Phil enjoys spending time with his wife, Leslie, and his calico cat, Sophie. Together, they love being grandparents to their granddaughter Lillianna, who resides in Bozeman, Montana, with her parents Chris and Eryn. In his quiet time, Phil enjoys watercolor painting, model railroading, and restoring vintage Hot Wheels cars. As a fifth-generation native of Colorado, Phil is without question an ardent Denver Broncos and Colorado Buffaloes fan!

A Kansas native, Rachel moved to Colorado to attend the University of Denver, where she pursued degrees in Finance and Spanish. Her passion for Spanish led her to a semester abroad in Bilbao, Spain, before returning to Denver and making it her home.

When she’s not using her knack for numbers to help manage KEPHART’s finances, she can be found traveling, running, hiking, exploring local farmers markets, or preparing to achieve her lifelong dream – to be on the Amazing Race TV show with her dad!

Rae Valdez

Growing up in a small town in Michigan made Rae appreciate the outdoors and sparked a curiosity about the built environment. After moving to Colorado in 2011, Rae pursued her passion for design and construction and enrolled in the Master of Architecture program at the University of Colorado – Denver. Although most of her time has been spent with her head in books and an eye on the prize, Rae also enjoys painting and long walks with her husband and dogs.

Riley Barber

Riley grew up in Salt Lake City before moving to Minnesota and eventually going to Denver in 2016, where he pursued the Design-Build program at the University of Colorado Denver.

Since moving to Colorado, he has spent his free time enjoying Denver’s many craft breweries and live music scene. On the weekends, Riley returns to his roots growing up in the Rocky Mountains with various activities like snowboarding, hiking, paddle boarding, and camping. He is also a huge fan of board games, Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering. A fun fact about Riley is that he is an avid collector of spiced rums and has visited the oldest rum distillery in the world – Mount Gay in Barbados!

Ryan Bender

Ryan Bender

Ryan joined the KEPHART team in June of 2013. Over the years, he gained exposure to various project types, including lower-density 3-story multifamily housing, assisted living facilities, and urban and infill townhomes. What Ryan enjoys most about the industry is the reuse of old buildings. “It’s amazing to see a mixture of materials bring life to an older building. In doing so, we create something great while keeping the history of our cities intact.”

Ryan and his wife enjoy spending their free time outdoors when away from the office. Together, they enjoy camping, hunting, fishing, and farming.

Sam DeWall

After graduating with his Masters in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Sam had always wanted to pursue his career in architecture out west. After a six-year pitstop in Iowa, he joined KEPHART because of the opportunities to grow and learn about architecture, practice good problem-solving, and explore the Rocky Mountains.

As a recent transplant to Colorado, he enjoys exploring the city and finding good ramen with his wife Rachel and his two bichon frises. When not in the office, he enjoys traveling, playing Dungeons and Dragons and other board games, hiking, photography, and doing escape rooms.

Scott Williams Professional

Scott Williams

Originally from Grand Island, Nebraska, Scott joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduating high school, where he learned skills in advanced electronic troubleshooting and did maintenance on fighter jets before becoming a technical instructor in his career field. After his time in the military, his hobby, interest in computers, and extensive troubleshooting skills evolved and developed into a full-time profession in IT. Scott holds degrees as an Instructor of Technology and Computer Network Systems Administration.

When not in front of a computer screen, Scott can be found throwing darts at various local and national tournaments, camping, and enjoying the mountains.

Stephany Stumphauzer

Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Stephany’s passion for art and eye for detail culminated in pursuing architecture. After graduating from The Ohio State University, Stephany’s interest in designing for the greater good led her to the University of Virginia, where she recently graduated with her Master’s in Architecture. She joined KEPHART shortly after with excitement for designing healthy and practical living spaces.

After relocating to Montana with her fiance, Stephany has enjoyed being close to the mountains and outdoor activities. In her free time, you will find her hiking, taking photographs, painting, or finding the next National Park to visit – she has been to almost 30!

Tanya Tillotson

Tanya has lived in various states over the years but considers Colorado home. After graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in sociology, she joined the Army as a Psychological Operations Specialist. However, after getting a certificate in drafting, she was inspired to follow her passion for architecture. While attending graduate school, she balanced her military duties, even being deployed to the Philippines during the program. Upon returning home, she earned her master’s degree in architecture from CU Denver. While not at work, she loves learning new technology and working on home renovation projects. You can also find Tanya exploring local museums with her husband and three kids.
Tim Doherty Professional

Timothy Doherty

After trying out a few other careers that didn’t fit, Tim returned to college to study architecture and is now in a career he loves. After 4 years of working on custom mountain homes, he joined KEPHART to work on multifamily housing and is excited to be involved in shaping the built environment he grew up in. He enjoys swing dancing, indoor climbing, singing, poker, and drawing in his free time.

Wade Hanson

Wade earned dual Masters in Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon. After moving back to Colorado in 2017, he joined KEPHART. He is passionate about sustainability, urban design, public spaces, and infill development.

Wade enjoys hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, ice hockey, and soccer in his free time. Wade loves living in the heart of downtown Denver for the good food and proximity to work. You can catch him biking to work, rain or shine!
