Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Cortland Powers North II, designed by KEPHART, is a testament to our client’s, Cortland, vision of a hospitality-focused living experience. This is the second phase of an existing apartment community, initially completed in 2018. KEPHART is excited to see the community grow with the addition of three buildings and 182 new homes.
The community includes a mix of building types that KEPHART strategically placed to overcome the site’s challenging topography and maximize residents’ views of Pikes Peak. The new phase is comprised of three buildings – a three-story garden, a three-four split, and a four-story center hall. The design for the latest phase complements the existing apartments while incorporating new and modern elements. The three-four-story split, and garden apartment buildings pull inspiration from the existing community with sloped roofs, similar materials and colors. They also incorporate elements from the more modern center hall building, that has a flat roof with unique overhangs and new materials.
The community offers six unique one- and two-bedroom luxury floor plans with designer kitchens and bathrooms. In keeping with Cortland’s hospitality mission, a novel trash valet system is being used. There is a locked access panel in the hallway to the trash/recycling cabinet in each unit, so on trash day the maintenance team can open the door and remove the bins. The secure system gives residents the convenience of getting rid of their trash without having to do anything and keeps hallways clear, clean, and trash-free. The amenities, located in the center hall building, continue the luxury vision for the community, including a resort-style pool, game room, fitness center, dog park, flex spaces on each floor, and a sky lounge with spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains and Pikes Peak. The amenity offerings were thoughtfully sized in the new phase since residents will also have access to the abundant amenities in phase one.
