We’re excited to share a project update for three KEPHART-designed communities across the country—Northwest Crossing in Bozeman, MT, BREZ at Atlantic Crossing in Delray Beach, FL and Revival on Platte in Denver, CO. Each project has been recognized an award winner in the 2025 Best in American Living Awards (BALA).
The Best in American Living Awards, recognizes residential projects that advance design quality, livability, and innovation across multifamily, mixed-use, offsite construction and remodeling. Selected from more than 600 nationwide entries, award winners represent the highest-rated projects in their respective categories.
We’re grateful to our clients, collaborators, and internal teams whose creativity and commitment made this work possible. These projects reflect what we value most— strong partnerships, thoughtful design rooted in regional context and shaped by the needs of the people who will live there.

SILVER AWARD WINNER
Category 22: Best Garden Apartment Community (4 Stories or Less)
Project: Northwest Crossing | Bozeman, Montana
Developer: Braxton Development
General Contractor: Dick Anderson Construction
Interior Designer: Studio 4D
Photographer: Saul Creatives
Northwest Crossing Apartments plays a key role in shaping Bozeman’s newest master-planned, mixed-use district. As the first residential project within the broader Northwest Crossing vision and the first developed under the city’s updated design standards the community sets an early precedent for livable density, open space integration, and neighborhood connectivity.
The apartments offer larger-than-average homes with generous windows, built-in workspaces, and private balconies that connect residents to Montana’s landscape. Amenities are intentionally spread throughout the site, creating smaller, more personal gathering spaces from coworking and fitness areas to outdoor social zones rather than a single centralized hub. With native landscaping, efficient systems, and direct access to regional trails, Northwest Crossing Apartments blends everyday comfort with a strong sense of place.

Category 50: Best Infill Community
Project: BREZ at Atlantic Crossing | Delray Beach, Florida
Developer: Edwards Communities
Builder: Urban5 Constructors, LLC
Interior Design: Studio 4-D
Landscape Architect: MKSK
Photographer: Jack Cook Photography
BREZ at Atlantic Crossing transforms a former shopping center into a vibrant mixed-use destination in the heart of downtown Delray Beach. Designed in partnership with Edwards Communities, the project spans multiple city blocks and strengthens the connection between Atlantic Avenue and the Intracoastal Waterway.
The design balances density with livability through activated streetscapes, plazas, and pedestrian corridors, while addressing complex site constraints such as floodplain requirements and limited developable area. A full-site subterranean parking structure and new internal roadway allowed for improved circulation and a more cohesive urban experience. Now leasing, BREZ demonstrates how thoughtful infill development can reinvigorate underutilized sites and contribute meaningfully to a city’s fabric.

GOLD AWARD WINNER
Category 67: Best Offsite Construction Multifamily Project Design
Project: Revival on Platte | Denver, Colorado
Developer/Builder: Mortenson
Interior Design: Studio BV
Photographer: MKM Build
Located along historic West Colfax Avenue, Revival on Platte reimagines an underutilized Opportunity Zone site into a nine-story, 200-unit multifamily community in Denver’s Stadium District. Designed for Mortenson, the project draws inspiration from the corridor’s Art Deco roots and industrial history, blending contemporary forms with detailed masonry and a prominent corner gateway.
The project navigated significant constraints, including floodplain conditions, easements, and view corridors by converting challenges into opportunities, such as integrating green space and orienting the building to capture mountain and downtown views. As one of Denver’s first modular, panelized multifamily developments of its kind, Revival on Platte was completed in just 18 months and incorporates rooftop solar, efficient systems, and prefabricated construction methods to support long-term sustainability.
Being named BALA Award Winners is an exciting milestone for these projects and the teams behind them. This recognition places each community among the best in residential design nationwide. It also reflects an approach to design that starts with listening to place, to context, and to the people who will live there.
This recognition would not be possible without the collaboration, trust, and dedication of our clients and partners. Thank you to everyone who contributed to bringing these projects to life.
