Located along West Colfax Avenue, also known as the “Gateway to the Rockies” in Lakewood, Colorado, Colfax & Owens is igniting a transformation of the surrounding neighborhood. The area, which was once a hub for automotive businesses, is being reimagined as a vibrant community ideally situated about 15 minutes from Downtown Denver and the foothills. The design, which was informed by the modern and art-deco influences found throughout the area, incorporates simple forms and horizontal massing. The dark gray board and batten is offset by light brick detailing, allowing the building to artfully catch the attention of passersby. To foster a neighborhood feel and create a pedestrian-friendly experience, the streetscape was activated with ground-level courtyards, lush landscaping, and walk-up units along 15th Street. Residents will have easy walking access to a nearby grocery store, numerous restaurants, and a light-rail transit stop.
The community features a wide range of amenities including several outdoor courtyards, a pool and spa, two barbecue areas with full outdoor kitchens, several outdoor fire features, a dog run and spa, fitness center, club room, game room, and bike storage. In addition, Colfax & Owens was designed to accommodate those who are working from home with a spacious co-working area that offers a variety of seating from shared spaces to private conference rooms, as well as a coffee bar and cafe area.
Colfax & Owens, being developed in partnership with Embrey Partners, is estimated to complete construction in April 2025.
